AS11 Metadata & Broadcast Delivery Checklist

A Practical Guide for Producers, Editors, MCR Ops and everyone in between!

Are you delivering content to a broadcaster?

Whether it’s a full-length programme, a short-form doc, or a 30-second commercial, AS11 compliance is essential—and so is getting your metadata right.

That’s why we’ve created the AS11 Metadata & Broadcast Delivery Checklist Pack — your printable, fillable, and no-nonsense guide to getting delivery right the first time.

Who This Pack Is For?

This template pack is designed for:

  • Freelance editors finishing content for TV

  • Post-production coordinators managing multi-platform delivery

  • Producers responsible for submitting final files

  • Ad agencies and media teams submitting TVCs and branded content

  • Technical staff prepping AS11 masters or checking compliance

If you’ve ever been told you’re missing a slate detail” or “this isn’t AS11 compliant,” — this is for you.

What’s Inside the Template Pack?

This downloadable pack includes 2 practical templates that can be used standalone or integrated into your production workflow.

1)

Format: Editable Microsoft Excel sheet

Use case: Share with production creatives, post houses, producers, editors, or production teams to ensure consistent metadata entry and avoid errors when you render

2)

Format: Fillable PDF

Use case: Use in production wrap-up, sign-off, or QC review sessions.

How do I use this Pack?

Step 1 – At the Start of Post

Distribute the AS11 Metadata Entry sheet early. Populate known fields, and flag anything that still needs confirmation from the client or broadcaster.

Step 2 – Before Export

Run through the Delivery Checklist to prep your timeline: clock, slate, audio tracks, timecode start, blanking and safe zones.

Step 3 – Before QC or Delivery

Finalise metadata. Check for consistency between file name, production number, slate, and form fields. Confirm all boxes are ticked before upload and delivery.

Step 4 – Keep a Copy

Save your completed versions in your project archive. They’re helpful for redeliveries, future series, and internal tracking.
